The issue is that most field INSURANCE do not allow multiple projectiles at once- fired directly at someone...Safety reasons, so most scenario producers dont allow them as well. As they also dont allow surgical tubing rounds launched out of LAWS or mortars ( ie paint grenades ) due to safety at higher velocities. However MORTARS can launch loose paintballs, because they must be fired from a greater then 45 degree angle

A complete set of scenario rules can be found linked from my teams page, here...
IYAOYAS T.O.C. :: View topic - GENERAL SCENARIO RULES OF PLAY Version 3.02 ?Ǭ© 1996-2007

That should help with scenario questions

Also, as far as "wadding" for the sabot rounds go..

get some corragated cardboard. (the kind that is about 3/16ths thick or so) and cut it into 4 or 5 inch strips. Make sure that the corragated "rows" go widthwise, so you can roll up the cardboard into a cyclinder diameter that matches your barrel. Once you got it how you like it, (diameterwise) you need to tape it with 1 layer of tape, to insure that the tube stays cylinder shape. then cap off the end that is closest to the marker, leaving the end facing out the muzzle open. cut slits into the cardboard on the muzzle side, going down the length of the "cartridge" so the cardboard will "open petals" to allow the paint to fly out, but to also keep the wadding from flying too far away. you can use some tissue paper or some other sort of thin paper to cap off the muzzle end of the cartridge once it is filled. (but not necessary, but makes packing, and carrying alot easier). This is not the only way, but this is how I seen it done at OKKDDAY07, and it seemed to work pretty good. These were fired out of Mortars, and used at greater then 45 degree angles.

Sorry about my description, and lack of photos, I didnt care to take any photos at the time, due to lack of interest.. However, that is how they were being used.

The way I had, is similar, only using a foam "fun noodle" and cutting into 1/2 inch thinck pieces then using a 2" PVC sharpened, cutting out 2" circles to use as the base and cap of the sabot. I have a full picture step by step that works sick, Ill scan and post later that was actually made by tippmann ordnance originally

that things cool. I bet you could build one for 5 times cheaper than what they are probably selling it for.

Hud, you are correcxt, it will cost from 4-500 to build compared to the 1500-3000 they sell them for.

I am working on one nearly identical myself, and when finished will post pics, WITH how much it cost, so far the materials cost me about 350, doesnt include labor yet......

Default Tippmann cannon

The Tippmann cannon fires a 20 ounce, fin stabilized,
marking paint filled round. Range is reportedly close to
a quarter mile. Currently they are ONLY available to
approved DOD end users. Several are in use at Fort
Knox, where it is used by their OPFOR training element
to deliver indirect fire onto visiting armored troops
during training at the post's Zussman MECH MOUT site.
